AERWATCH

UI design for the measurment of indoor air quality

Aerwatch was born in the middle of Corona in 2020. The technology was designed to enable ventilation as soon as certain thresholds are reached in classrooms and other spaces where many people congregate.

For this technology, the challenge was to create a UI design that could be easily operated by, for example, teachers during lessons without requiring too much attention.

For this, I decided on a communication between device and user primarily by means of colors, as these can be quickly grasped and interpreted without much effort. These, together with reduced typography, give clear instructions for opening and closing the windows and thus reduce the risk of infection by Corona.
